De Gea asks Real Madrid to forget signing his teammate at Manchester United: “We won’t let him leave”

David De Gea asked Real Madrid to forget the signing of Alejandro Garnacho, the Manchester United player who impressed the Red Devils during the season, and it seems that his performance prompted Real Madrid to monitor his development.

However, the veteran United goalkeeper told Real Madrid in no uncertain terms that the youngster would not be leaving Old Trafford. Speaking to the Spanish press after a mid-season friendly, De Gea caught Real Madrid’s interest in Garnacho.

The 32-year-old was quick to dismiss the rumours, saying: “We will not let him leave.”

Garnacho arrived at Manchester United after moving from Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid will be hoping to lure him back to the Spanish capital.

The Spanish club’s interest in Garnacho will be a source of concern for Manchester United fans after the youngster began his footballing career at Old Trafford.

The 18-year-old has impressed fans with his deceitful performances on a large scale and looks like an incredibly exciting talent.

The Argentine even managed to score a last-gasp winner away from home against Fulham to give his side a decisive win before the World Cup break.

Garnacho and Manchester United would return to competitive football after the World Cup with a Carabao Cup match against Burnley.

This will be another chance for the young player to impress and potentially book a place in the starting line-up for Erik ten Hag.
