Haaland’s father throws a bomb about his future
Manchester City signed Erling Haaland with great effort, but he can enjoy him for less time than expected, as the striker’s father and advisor, Alf Inge Haaland, made it clear that the Norwegian striker’s intention is to try as many experiences as possible in the future.
“He can stay at City for 15 years because he loves it so much and it’s a great team, but I get the impression that he wants to prove he can win in any of the major leagues,” the father told France Football magazine.
Haaland Sr. was blunt when asked if he would see his son try his hand at the Big Five: “It could be. In Germany he has already spent two and a half years and can do it like this in the future.”
He added, “He spends three years in the English Premier League and then moves to Italy, Spain or France. Nothing has been decided but it is possible because he can win in any team.”
Manchester City made it clear that Haaland signed for five years and that there is no exit clause for a specific amount of money for the player, despite speculation that there is this clause that allows him to leave for some clubs at the time he decides to do so when he thinks his time is over in the English Premier League.
What appears to be a very good relationship with Pep Guardiola and the coach’s contract renewal makes it unlikely that he will move from City now. Once the next two seasons are over, he will have completed a three-year cycle and then all kinds of rumors will begin.
